Or, as Brendon refers to it, “a handy piece of kit”. We use this “detector” in addition to a traditional oral examination. It picks up what the traditional X-Ray cannot, which is minor decay in the molar and pre-molar teeth. If we suspect decay in these teeth, we can use DIAGNOdent technology to confirm or deny our suspicions and catch the decay early saving you pain, discomfort, degradation of the tooth, and, potentially, significant cost. An X-Ray only delivers cavity information when the decay is significant.
